欧洲最成功的著名硬式摇滚乐团"Scorpions"掘起于德国Hannover。1964年（鲁道夫为吉他手）Rudolf组此乐团，不久后他弟弟Michael Schenker（迈克尔.申克）偶而也加入他们的行列弹奏吉他。总之，Michael不被允许演出,是因为谁会让一个9岁，弹奏技巧胜于你的弟弟整天与你的朋友混在一起？1971年Rudolf接受他弟弟的加入,Michael成为正式团员之一。团员中有主唱Klaus Meine（克劳斯.梅恩）、贝斯手Lothar Heinberg（洛查.海因伯格）、鼓手Wolfgang Dziony（沃尔夫冈.德恩尼），就在Lonesome Crow录制之前，他们正式解散。着名制作人Conny Plank，提供给他们一个机会为一部电影配乐及录音、录制原声带，这部电影是一个德国电影叫"寒冷天堂"主题涉及滥用毒品，原声带的发行名称叫Lonesome Crow（孤独的乌鸦）是他们用6、7天录制而成的。这张1972年发行的专辑使Scorpions进入了国际重型摇滚乐队之列，主要以申克的演奏出的火暴吉他效果和Klaus Meine（克劳斯.梅恩）的日尔曼的演奏而见长。但乐团此时巡回演出成绩不佳，贝斯手Lothar Heinberg、鼓手Wolfgang Dziony（沃尔夫冈.德恩尼）离队，乐队并因此解散。
